What to expect from the blog?
After landing here, you might be wondering, well, what is this blog even about?
I, myself, am still figuring that one out. What I know is that it will represent things in life that mean a lot to me. Traveling, photography, exploring self and the world, spending time in nature, pushing boundaries, and volunteering are all important to me, and as such they will find their place in this blog.
I’m going to show you places as I’ve seen them, both the amazing, so-so, and the bad sides of them. What I find lacking in the whole travel world is reality. The expectations are set up so high that I’m not sure if any place, no matter how beautiful, could live up to them. We take that perfect shot, mesmerising videos, often without capturing the whole reality. Trust me, I’m all for the perfect shots, as long as you show the whole picture.
Places we travel to and visit are more than tourist spots that we need to check off our bucket list. They are home to different people, cultures, customs, and ways of thinking. Often entirely novel to us.
If we open ourselves to these new experiences and engage in meaningful conversations, they have the power to change us. To give us not only a memory or a souvenir but a whole new view of the world.
Slow travel and the life of a digital nomad are two terms that best explain the kind of life I live, and prefer. This means they also best explain what you can expect from this blog. That includes not only the tourist spots as something that you can find anywhere else, but also, locals’ favourite places, hidden gems, and other aspects that are often left out of guides.
Other than unique places and useful information about destinations, I will give you practical tips on how to organise your own travels. Whether it’s a short trip to one, or more destinations, your own transition to the life of a digital nomad.
I have tried, but in this one short blog post, I can’t cover all of the areas of interest that I will be sharing with you. Rather, stay tuned for the articles that I’m about to write, and find out for yourself if they are helpful, or entertaining to you.
